Damaramadugu

Damaramadugu is an agricultural village located in Buchireddipalem mandal of Nellore district, Andhra Pradesh, India. This village is located about seven miles from Nellore city on the Nellore - Kadapa high-way between Nellore and Buchireddipalem. Historically this village has been known as a Communist village with some modern thinkers constantly thinking and trying to successfully implement some of their modern thoughts.

Being moderately big for the size and population of a typical South Indian village, close to Nellore city and very well connected to it on the main road-route to its neighbouring District Kadapa, it still represents its uniqueness in the district without having a need for a Police Station, Hospital or even a Movie Theatre for entertainment.

Unlike other villages with much localized divine Village Gods, this village had chosen Lord Hanuman as its God of the village called locally 'Grama Devatha'. The land with rich resources of water and the soil being very rich suitable for any kind of crop, agriculture remains the main source of income for people living in this village. This village used to be one of the main producers of the world famous rice breed called Molagolukulu which is popularly known as Nellore Rice. Though it still stands as a village, not-fast-changing in any aspects of modern living, it is certainly unique with its own blend of both town and village looks in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India.
