What is "cynodonichthys"

Cynodonichthys is a disputed genus of rivulines native to Central and South America. This genus has been considered a subgenus of Rivulus, first being separated as a full genus by W. J. E. M. Costa in 2011. Subsequent work in 2012 by J.H. Huber, however, suggests that this grouping should still be considered a sub-genus of ''Rivulus ''.
