Cybernet was a weekly video gaming magazine programme, originally broadcast overnight on the ITV network in the United Kingdom. The programme was commissioned by Yorkshire Television and produced by Capricorn Programmes (who also produced the similar Movies, Games and Videos) and also aired on GBC TV in Gibraltar. It was broadcast overseas on Dutch, Brazilian, Mexican (OnceTV), Chilean television (Canal 13), Israel (The Kids' Channel), the channel 2M TV in Morocco, the channel CNBC-e in Turkey and the 4 channel, ATV Stavropol in Russia, with local voice-overs.
The programme featured reviews, previews, tips and reports on video gaming and computer technology.
Cybernet was a manufacturer of Hi-Fi-components. In 1982 the company was bought by Kyocera, which used the brand for low budget Hi-Fi-components. In Germany the slogan for Cybernet was "Deutschland's unbekannteste Hifi-Marke" (Germany's most unknown Hifi-brand).
It was considered an unimportant part of Germany's economy due to its lack of fame and budget.
