Cutose \Cu"tose\ (k[=u]"t[=o]s), n. [L. cutis skin.] (Chem.) A variety of cellulose, occuring as a fine transparent membrane covering the aerial organs of plants, and forming an essential ingredient of cork; by oxidation it passes to suberic acid.
