Current density

In electromagnetism, current density is the electric current per unit area of cross section. It is defined as a vector whose magnitude is the electric current per cross-sectional area at a given point in space (i.e. it is a vector field). In SI units, the electric current density is measured in amperes per square metre.

Usage examples of "current density".

Curiously, while the current density was given, the total current wasn't.

The new compounds have unlimited current density capacities, and remain superconductive up to the antiferromagnetic transition temperature, in the area of 330 degrees Celsius.

The wire has a current density so huge that the atoms are destroyed, and the protons and electrons coalesce into pure radiant energy.
