Corianton

According to the Book of Mormon, Corianton was a Nephite missionary. He was the third son of Alma the Younger, who was the first chief judge. In the 17th year of the reign of the judges, or approximately 74 BC, Corianton went with his older brother Shiblon and his father Alma, along with 5 others, on a mission to teach the word of God to the apostate Zoramites in the land of Antionum, while his eldest brother Helaman stayed behind. The other members of the group consisted of Amulek, Zeezrom, Ammon, Aaron, Omner, and Himni. The group witnessed the peculiar way that the Zoramites worshiped in their synagogues, including the prayers offered on the Rameumptom.

After forsaking the ministry and committing grievous sin, his father Alma reprimanded him, commanded him to repent, and instructed him on the existence after death, the Resurrection, and the Atonement. Shortly thereafter, Alma called him again to preach to the people. The last account in the Book of Mormon of Corianton is that he journeyed to a land northward with provisions to give to the inhabitants of that land.
