What is "connetable"

Connétables in Jersey and Guernsey are the elected heads of the Parishes. They are often called 'constables' in English. The constables are entitled each to carry a silver-tipped baton of office.

Connetable — obelisk and square in Gatchina, placed on the cross of 25th of October prospect (main city's street) and Krasnoarmeysky prospect. Probably the author of the project was Vincenzo Brenna.
