commonground is a global social network for environmental and property due diligence professionals, including lenders, attorneys, health and safety, insurance providers, appraisers, state and local government, industry leaders, and market experts. Content includes discussion forums, blogs, resource library, calendar, jobs board, service provider directory and the Due Diligence University.

In October 2009, commonground won a Groundswell Award from Forrester Research for best B2B Supporting Community. The Groundswell Awards recognize excellence in achieving business and organizational goals with social technology applications. The awards program was developed to support and recognize the principles outlined in the Forrester Research book Groundswell: Winning In A World Transformed By Social Technologies ( Groundswell (Book), Harvard Business Press, 2008).

In February 2009, commonground was recognized by the Environmental Business Journal (EBJ) for a 2008 EBJ Business Award for its innovation, contributions, and value for all environmental professionals.

The commonground community was founded in April 2007 and has more than 5,000 members from all US 50 states and 67 countries representing over 2,500 companies. Since the beginning, the community has generated more than 3,300 discussion and 800 blog posts.

CommonGround is a web-based software program that helps mental health clients identify treatment preferences and effectively communicate them to clinicians.

The program makes use of shared decision making to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of consultations, and has led to higher levels of satisfaction among clients.
