Clifton is a Franco-Belgian comics series in the humorous spy-genre, featuring the exploits of Colonel Sir Harold Wilberforce Clifton. It was created by Raymond Macherot in 1959, and has since passed on to other artists and writers. Over the fifty years of publication of the Clifton series, approximately twenty albums and twenty smaller stories have been published, totalling about 800 pages.

Clifton is a historic home located at Ednor, Montgomery County, Maryland, United States. It is a -story gambrel-roofed brick structure with a lower north wing, also with a gambrel roof. Outbuildings on the property include a wood-frame shed and a guest house or cottage. It is one of the few extant mid-18th-century buildings in Montgomery County and is associated with the local Quaker community, which by 1753 had been organized into the Sandy Spring Meeting of Friends.

Clifton was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.

Clifton is a New Jersey Transit train station that serves Clifton, New Jersey, with service is to Hoboken Terminal via the Main Line; travel time is about 30 minutes. Service is available to Pennsylvania Station in Midtown Manhattan via connections at Secaucus Junction. The station is located on the border between the Athenia and Dutch Hill sections of Clifton, with the Hoboken-bound platform in the Athenia section and the Suffern-bound platform located in the Dutch Hill section.

The station provides two free parking lots with enough space for 236 cars, and bicycle parking is also available near the Hoboken-bound platform. Clifton's station house building is open for commuters from the morning rush hour until the evening rush hour for passengers to wait for their trains. Passengers are also provided with benches on either side of the track and two shelters, one on each platform, are also available. The Suffern-bound platform recently received a new shelter replacing an older, dilapidated shelter.

Clifton (Roslyn Harbor, New York)

Clifton is a historic mansion located at Roslyn Harbor in Nassau County, New York. The main house is a large, -story, Flemish Revival building constructed about 1863 and altered twice between 1876 and 1932. It features a complex roof plan, including numerous gables in the forms of cross gables, wall dormers and roof dormers, most of which are Flemish gables with bold molding. Also on the property are a contributing boathouse and rustic gazebo.

It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.

Clifton is a historic plantation house located near Hamilton, Cumberland County, Virginia. It was built about 1760, and is a two-story, seven-bay frame dwelling in the Georgian style. It has a hipped roof and a one-bay, one-story wing on the west end. The front facade features a three-bay, one-story gable roof porch supported by elongated Tuscan order columns. It was the home of Carter Henry Harrison (~1727 – 1793/1794), who as a member of the Cumberland Committee of Safety, wrote the Instructions for Independence presented to the Virginia Convention of May 1776.

Clifton is a historic home located near Shadwell, Albemarle County, Virginia. It was built about 1800, and is a large, rambling two-story, five bay, wood frame dwelling. The house has later 19th- and 20th-century Colonial Revival-style additions and alterations. The front facade features a double level porch, added about 1930, and the interior has Federal details. Also on the property are the contributing brick office (c. 1833-45); the ruins of an early 19th-century spring house; the shaft of a 19th-century stone-lined ice house; an early 20th-century chicken coop and an altered 1920s brick garage. Clifton was built by Congressman and Virginia Governor Thomas Mann Randolph, Jr. (1768-1828). It was part of the never-to-be port of North Milton, a sister port to the now extinct village of Milton directly across the Rivanna River.

They include an antebellum two-story frame kitchen with a wide stone chimney; a 19th-century frame bank barn; a stone ash house, an icehouse, a chicken house, and a small frame barn, all built around 1918; a frame chicken house constructed about 1950; and a large center-aisle frame corncrib and spring house built about 1930.

Clifton (Clarksville, Maryland)

Welling's Stone House or Clifton is a historic stone house situated between Clarksville, Maryland and Fulton, Maryland.

Clifton was built on a tract of 2500 acres of land patented as "White Wine & Claret" in 1712 by John Dorsey. The land was inherited by Dorsey's grandsons, Charles and William Ridgley. The tract was divided into a 820 acre tract for Willima Ridgley, 930 for Charles Ridgley, and 234 acres to John Ridgley. The house was situated along Guilford road, one of the region's earliest "rolling roads" where tobacco would be transported from slave plantations by rolling hogshead containers to docks at Annapolis.

William Welling built the two and a half stories tall house with stone construction. The property was surrounded by 238 acres of farm fields until it was purchased by the Rouse Company division, Howard Research and Development for subdivision. A portion of the property was used for recreation vehicle parking for the Columbia development for several years. The barns were removed, and the address was changed to a cul-de-sac address on Warm Sunshine Path. The Welling cemetery has been fenced in with new gravestone markers.
