ClassiQ also known Buba Barnabas Luka was born in Bauchi State, Nigeria but raised in Kano. He was born on September 21, 1991 and started singing at the age of 16. His intention is to give hip hop the standard it deserves and produce feel-good music that people can enjoy. Some of his music portrays a conscious side and would like to be a voice for the people. He claims that “Music chose me, I didn’t choose it”
He is the first of born of a lecturer father and a nursing mother. His early education started at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Staff Primary School Bauchi State and continued on to earn a B.Sc in Computer from Bayero University Kano in 2009.
He is known for prolific punch lines, witty delivery and exceptional production skills. His unique style of rap has been gaining the attention of hip-hop lovers all over the country. He raps fluently in Hausa, English and pidgin.
ClassiQ has performed alongside acts like M.I, Eldee, Wande Coal, Shank, Davido, Duncan Mighty and many more. He credits Asa, Naeto C, Don Jazzy, Fela, Kahli Abdu, J.Cole, Kanye West, Talib Kweli, Common, Wyclef, Dido and HHP as his biggest music influences.
Currently, ClassicQ is the fastest rising rapper from the North of Nigeria. His Mixtape 'Sarki' is filled with great tracks like 'Duniya' ft Ruby, 'Duniya remix' ft Jesse Jagz. He was featured by Vector on the remix of King Kong alongside Reminisce, Phyno and Uzi.
He's currently signed to Finesse entertainment.
