Chlamyphore \Chlam"y*phore\, n. [Gr. ? cloak + fe`rein to bear.] (Zo["o]l.) A small South American edentate ( Chlamyphorus truncatus, and Chlamyphorus retusus) allied to the armadillo. It is covered with a leathery shell or coat of mail, like a cloak, attached along the spine. [1913 Webster] ||
