Chiplun
Chiplun is a town and a municipal council in Ratnagiri district in the state of Maharashtra, India. It is the headquarter of Chiplun taluka. Located on the Mumbai– Goa highway (NH-17) ( It has been now renumbered as NH-66.) in western India. The city is about 320 km south of Mumbai in the Konkan region of Maharashtra. It is a fast developing city in Konkan with a strong cultural background. The name Chiplun means "The abode of Lord Parshuram."
