Chimney Rock is located in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness of the Central Cascades in Kittitas County of the western part of the State of Washington in the United States. Two points make up the top of Chimney Rock; a northeast and a central (or main) spire. The highest peak of Chimney Rock has an elevation of approximately 7598 ft and is located at the main spire. The first documented ascent was in August 1930. Due to the climate and elevation, Chimney Rock is more easily attempted during the early to mid summer. Areas of the climb are rated as YDS Class 5 and require specialized equipment and technical rock climbing to complete. The Overcoat Glacier flows north from the peak.
