Challagariga

Challagariga is a village in Warangal district, Telangana, in the state of Telangana in India. It is located from Warangal city. Frequent bus services are available from parkal to reach the village. Number of private vehicles like Autos and Jeeps are available from parkal to reach challagariga . There is no train route.

This village has two historical temples located in the heart of the village. One is holy Shivalayam and the other is holy Ramalayam. Every year people celebrate Sriramanavami very grandly. Many people come from other villages to see the celebrations in Ramalayam. And there is a dedicated priest for Shivalayam, living nearer to the temple and doing pooja everyday from many years.

This village's economy largely depends on agriculture. 90% of the population depends on agriculture and related activities. The literacy rate is very high. The village has one government high school with adequate infrastructure; it teaches up to 10th class; two other private schools are also working efficiently.

The village is well known for sports in Warangal district. A number of people have represented the village in district, state and national tournaments in various kinds of sports. Challagariga became popular in Warangal district with the game Kabaddi in the early 1990s. There has also been interest and participation in sports like ball badminton, volleyball and handball, despite a lack of infrastructure and resources.

The village Challagariga is bigger in area compared to its mandal Chityal. It was very popular 15 years before having two state banks, a library, a homeo hospital, a veterinary hospital, a rice godown, a well-maintained school, and many agriculture-based landlords, etc.

The village's agriculture depends only on the rainfall every year and its two small ponds. Due to the much-diminished rainfall in recent years farmers are not getting good crops.

The village secured a great reputation by organizing SriRamaNavami every year.
