Chakravyuha is a 1978 Bollywood film directed by Basu Chatterjee and written by Jainendra Jain. The film stars Rajesh Khanna and Neetu Singh in lead roles and supported by Vinod Mehra, Simple Kapadia, Pradeep Kumar, Om Shivpuri, Dina Pathak, Master Raju Shrestha and others. The music was composed by Laxmikant-Pyarelal. The film was critically acclaimed and classified as Gold by critics upon its release in the book Collections.
Chakravyuha is a 1983 Kannada film directed by V. Somashekhar. The film stars Ambareesh and Ambika in lead roles. This film marked the entry of popular actor Mukhyamantri Chandru into films. Produced by N. Veeraswamy for Eshwari Productions, this film also starred his son V. Ravichandran in a small role. Actor Tiger Prabhakar also featured in an extended cameo role.
The film, upon release, met with hugely positive reviews and catapulted actor Ambareesh's career to greater heights and coined him the title "Rebel Star" for his angry young man role.
The film's huge success inspired other language industries and was subsequently remade in Bollywood as Inquilaab (1984) starring Amitabh Bachchan and Sridevi and in Telugu as Mukhyamanthri.
Chakravyuha is a 2016 Indian Kannada language action- masala film written and directed by M. Saravanan, Produced by N. K. Lohith under the Sunshine Creations banner, it stars Puneeth Rajkumar and Rachita Ram in lead roles. Apart from them, the film features an ensemble cast of Arun Vijay, Sadhu Kokila, Bhavya, Abhimanyu Singh and Rangayana Raghu in important roles. S. Thaman composed the film's score and soundtrack. The plot is loosely based on the director's own earlier Tamil film Ivan Veramathiri.
