It contains only one known species, Chaiturus marrubiastrum, native to central and southern Europe ( Germany, Poland, Spain, Italy, Balkans, Ukraine, etc.), Russia, Turkey, Caucasus, and Central Asia ( Altai, Xinjiang, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan). False motherwort is a common name for this species.
