Cattelin

Restaurant Cattelin is one of Stockholm's classic restaurants, specializing in French cuisine. It lies on Storkyrkobrinken 9 on Gamla stan in Stockholm's medieval quarter, to the west of Stockholm Palace, and was opened in 1922 by Franco-Belgian chef Jules Claude Cattelin, although other sources indicate 1897. Frommer's describes it as "an old favourite of frugal Stockholmers". It is reportedly popular with artists, writers and civil servants. Many of the dishes are meat or fish based such as salmon, veal, chicken or beef and many of popular of the snacks are escargots (fried snails). The Cattelin's Special is a garlic-flavoured squid salad.
