What is "cannabin"

Cannabin \Can"na*bin\, n. (Chem.) A poisonous resin extracted from hemp ( Cannabis sativa, variety Indica). The euphoric and narcotic effects of hasheesh are due to this resin; the active ingredient is tetrahydrocannabinol, THC. See Cannabis Indica, below.
