Calendulauda

Calendulauda is a genus of lark in the Alaudidae family. Established by Edward Blyth in 1855, it contains eight species:

  • Foxy lark, Calendulauda alopex
  • Fawn-coloured lark, Calendulauda africanoides
  • Pink-breasted lark, Calendulauda poecilosterna
  • Sabota lark, Calendulauda sabota
  • Karoo lark, Calendulauda albescens
  • Dune lark, Calendulauda erythrochlamys
  • Barlow's lark, Calendulauda barlowi
  • Red lark, Calendulauda burra

The name Calendulauda is a combination of the names of two other lark genera: Calendula and Alauda. Some species in this genus were formerly assigned to the genus Mirafra.
