What is "bridgmanite"

n. The magnesium iron and calcium silicates (Mg,Fe)SiO3 and CaSiO₃, which have a perovskite structure and are mainly found in the lower part of the mantle.

Bridgmanite is the accepted name for the mineral silicate perovskite, the most common mineral on Earth. It was discovered in Tenham chondrite meteorite, where it associates with another polymorph of MgSiO substance - akimotoite.
