What is "bonpara"

Bonpara is a village in the Rajshahi District of northwestern Bangladesh. The village was established in the late 1920s by Christians from Bhawal, a Roman Catholic stronghold to the north of Dhaka and is one of the oldest Christian communities in the country. In 1940, the Our Lady of Lourdes parish church was consecrated and later, a high school was built.
