Blenny \Blen"ny\, n.; pl. Blennies. [L. blennius, blendius, blendea, Gr. ?, fr. ? slime, mucus.] (Zo["o]l.) A marine fish of the genus Blennius or family Blenniid[ae]; -- so called from its coating of mucus. The species are numerous.
