Birvėta ( bel. Бірвета) − river east Lithuania and Belarus ( Vitebsk Region). Dysna right tributary. Starts Švenčionys district, Kirkučiai village surroundings, Sirvėta regional park. Flowing in the north, flows through Kančioginas lake. Away Ignalina district flowing in the north and east and up to the entrance in the Erzvėtas lake, called Kančiogina. Next again flowing east, flows through swampy areas, fishing ponds place. Total passing the 65 kilometres intersects Lithuania and Belarus state border and flowing Belarus Pastavy and Braslaw boundary. Flows into Dysna 113 kilometres from its estuary, to the south from the Kazyan. Birvėta lower reaches ariseth in the Polatsk lowland.

Tributaries: Marūniškė (left-winger), Svyla, Kamoya, Juodupis, Medila (right-winger). Dale shallow, extensive, boggy.
