What is "bionure"

Bionure is a drug development company founded in 2009 as a spin-off from Hospital Clinic de Barcelona- IDIBAPS and CSIC. The company, with headquarters in Menlo Park, California, is focused on the development of small molecules for the treatment of neuromyelitis optica and acute optic neuritis. Currently, Bionure is developing BN201, which has been granted orphan drug designation by the EMA and the FDA. In 2013, Bionure entered a collaborative partnership with the Myelin Repair Foundation to assess the remyelinating properties of BN201. More recently, in 2015, Bionure entered a partnership with National Multiple Sclerosis Society that will provide funding for the late-preclinical development of BN201.
