Bessingham

Bessingham is a village in the North Norfolk district of the English county of Norfolk. It lies north-north-west of Aylsham and south-south-west of Cromer. It forms part of the civil parish of Sustead (where the population is included).

St. Mary's Church (previously known as St. Andrew's Church) is a round-tower church that was restored in 1869.

The current Bessingham Manor House was built in 1870 for the lord of the manor, Daniel Spurrell, It stood empty and derelict for many years and was eventually scheduled for demolition. Water ingress lead to rot and decay of the internal structure and the subsequent collapse of the floors and some collapse of large parts of the roofs but has recently been restored by the new owners Mr and Mrs William Hickey.
