What is "begunaah"

Begunaah is a 1991 Indian crime drama film directed and produced by Anil Suri. The film follows the life of Jeevanlal J.V ( Rajesh Khanna), a man who experiences a personal crisis one after the other after his wife's death. He was jailed, then had an increase in the jail sentence due to his attempts to escape, and was separated from his only daughter. He subsequently searched for his grown up daughter only to find that she is widower, mother to a boy, and also a prostitute. It was the feature debut of director Anil Suri who had been a producer of many films in the past. It was a success when released in 1991.
