Postal (stylized as POSTAL) is an isometric top-down shooter video game developed by Running With Scissors and published by Ripcord Games in 1997. A sequel to the game, Postal 2, was released in 2003. Director Uwe Boll bought the movie rights for the series, and produced a film of the same name. A March 2001 re-release of the game, called Postal Plus, included a "Special Delivery" add-on. A remaster of the game, Postal Redux, was released for Microsoft Windows on May 20, 2016, and is scheduled to release for PlayStation 4 at a later date.

Postal is a computer game franchise developed by Running With Scissors known for its excessive violence and controversial content. Each game is set in a different genre, Postal is isometric, Postal 2 is a first-person shooter and various spin-off titles were in genres such as third-person shooter and top-down shooter. A film adaptation simply titled Postal was also produced by German director Uwe Boll.

Standlake is a village and civil parish about southeast of Witney and west of Oxford, England in the district of West Oxfordshire. The parish includes the hamlet of Brighthampton. The 2011 Census recorded the parish's population as 1,497.

A dead letter office (DLO) is a facility within a postal system where undeliverable mail is dealt with. Mail is considered to be undeliverable when the address is invalid so it cannot be delivered to addressee, and there is no return address so it cannot be returned to the sender.

At a DLO, mail is usually opened to try to find an address to forward to. If an address is found, the envelope is usually sealed using tape or postal seals, or enclosed in plastic bags and delivered. If the letter or parcel is still undeliverable, valuable items are then auctioned off while the correspondence is usually destroyed. Despite this practice, in the past some undeliverable envelopes were acquired by philatelists.

Dead letter offices go by different names in different countries. Other names include returned letter office or undeliverable mail office.

Dead Letter Office is a rarities and B-sides collection by R.E.M., released in 1987. The album is essentially a collection of many additional recordings R.E.M. made pre- Murmur to Lifes Rich Pageant that were outtakes or released as flip sides to their singles internationally. Many of the tracks are favorite cover versions indicating the band's disparate influences and musical tastes, including three Velvet Underground covers, and songs by Pylon, Aerosmith and Roger Miller.

Guitarist Peter Buck composed wry, self-deprecating (and, in one instance, apologetic) liner notes to the songs on the album. Buck initially had doubts about releasing it, saying he felt as though people would perceive the album as the band "trying to cash in, maybe to sell some records," as the ultimate release date predated that of the band's final studio album with I.R.S., Document, by a mere five months.

Dead Letter Office originally reached #52 in the U.S. and #60 in the UK. Referring to the album in 2003, Pitchfork Media were favourable, saying the album was "such a blast" due to it possessing a certain "kind of drunken studio fuckery."

The Flat Rate refers to “A charge or level of payment that is the same in all cases”. This regards the regular amount a person is charged, whether it be in a given time period or per use. For example, in a majority of fitness centres, a person who is interested in signing up for the first time usually has to pay a specific signup fee. This fee is considered to be the Flat Rate that consumers pay, or is also known as the “Flat Fee”. Though it is subject to change, the pricing will never fluctuate per consumer or use. Flat rates stay the same regardless of amounts of customers. A flat fee, also referred to as a flat rate or a linear rate, refers to a pricing structure that charges a single fixed fee for a service, regardless of usage. Rarely, it may refer to a rate that does not vary with usage or time of use. Another term used is "flate", a hybrid of "flat" and "rate".

The relatively narrow mouth of the beanpot minimizes evaporation and heat loss, while the deep, wide, thick-walled body of the pot facilitates long, slow cooking times.

Beanpots are traditionally associated with New England, in particular Boston, Massachusetts. This association is evident in the nickname Beantown, and the use of the name beanpot for Boston events such as the Beanpot ice hockey tournament.

Beanpots resemble the Indian handi and the Spanish, Mexican or Native American olla, and may be related to the latter vessel. Unlike the German Römertopf and the Japanese donabe, they are typically glazed both inside and out, and so cannot be used for clay pot cooking.
