What is "battoulah"

Battoulah (Arabic: البطولة al-baṭṭūlah) is a black mask traditionally worn by women in Qatar as well as in other parts of Western Arabia like the United Arab Emirates, Oman, and by the Arabs of Southern Iran.

The tradition is less popular with the newer generations, but is still used by women in their 50s and above 50, and by those living in rural areas.
