Banalakshmi or "Vanalakshmi Unmesh Samiti" is a Krishi Ashram and a small NGO in the Birbhum district of West Bengal. It is located near to the Santiniketan, the education centre set up by Rabindranath Tagore. It is connected by a highway to Ilambazar and Bolpur. The bus stop name is Banabhila . The Choupahari sal forests starts from here. Address is Vanalakshmi Unmesh Samiti, Banabhila, P.O. Dwaranda (via Sriniketan P.O.), Birbhum-731236. Off late, some of the staff members have become extremely arrogant. This organization has become a popular tourist destination but the spirit in which Mr. Sanyal had established this organization is getting defeated. The organizing committee have to take note of this and those staff members involved in public dealing such as the salesman in their show room, needs orientation in public dealing. Any person should not be put at the counter without a proper screening.
