Balochistan (; also Baluchistan, often interpreted as the Land of the Baloch) is an arid desert and mountainous region in south- western Asia. It comprises the Pakistani province of Balochistan, the Iranian province of Sistan and Baluchestan, and the southern areas of the Afghan provinces of Nimruz, Helmand, and Kandahar. Balochistan borders the Pashtun region to the north, Sindh to the east, Punjab to the northeast, and Persian regions to the west. Across its southern coastline lies the Gulf region.
Balochistan or Baluchistan or Baluchestan ( Balochi: بلوچستان) is a region that covers parts of southwestern Pakistan, southeastern Iran and southern Afghanistan. It can also refer to one of several modern and historical territories within that region:
- Balochistan, Pakistan, a province of Pakistan
- Sistan and Baluchestan Province, a province of Iran
- Balochistan (Afghanistan), in the south and southwest of Afghanistan
- Baluchistan (Chief Commissioner's Province), a province of British India and a former province of Pakistan
- Baluchistan Agency, a former tribal region of British India
- Baluchistan States Union, a short-lived federation of princely states that formed a part of Pakistan
- Baluchestan-e Shutavar, a village in Iran
Balochistan( Balochi: ) or Baluchistan is an arid, mountainous region that includes part of southern and southwestern Afghanistan. It extends into southeastern Iran and western Pakistan and is named after the Baloch people.
