Ballygunner

Ballygunner , is a large townland in County Waterford, Ireland.

The placename is derived, in part, from the Old Norse masculine personal name Gunnarr.

The boundaries of Ballygunner coincide with that of St. Mary's and St. Joseph & St. Benildus parishes. Ballygunner contains several smaller areas inside it, some that may be classified as Townlands in their own right. These are: Ballygunner Mhór, Ballygunner Castle, Knockboy, the Dunmore Road Area, Granstown, Callaghan & Ballinamuncha.
