Ballinahown
Ballinahown , also spelt Ballynahown, is a village in County Westmeath on the N62 regional road in Ireland. It is south of Athlone and east of the River Shannon.
From Lewis's Topographical Dictionary of Ireland, 1837:
Ballinahown is home to the work of a large selection of Midlands Arts and Crafts workers, not least the famous Celtic Roots studio where you may see a demonstration of the art of Oak Sculpture and learn of the cultural significance of the materials.
In 2012, Mark Rohan, a former Under 21 footballer from Ballinahown who played with Westmeath until a car crash, won a gold medal in the 2012 Summer Paralympics in the individual H1 time trial.
