What is "bajlozi"

Bajlozi represents the occupier in Albanian folklore. He usually comes from the sea in order to bring destruction and oppression to the people. Bajlozi always imposes taxes on the common people and if they don’t pay he forces them to give up their home or their women. However, he is always challenged in a duel by some local hero who will eventually defeat him.
