Azaborane

Azaboranes are cluster composed of boron, nitrogen and hydrogen atoms. Like many of the related boranes, these clusters are polyhedra and are similarly classified as closo-, nido-, arachno-, hypho-, etc. based on whether they represent a complete (closo-) polyhedron, or a polyhedron that is missing one (nido-), two (arachno-), or more vertices.

An azadedecaborane is a icosahedral cluster composed of boron, nitrogen and hydrogen atoms.

Interesting examples of azadodecaboranes are the extremely stable icosahedral closo-azadodecaborane.

A prominent example is the charge-neutral NBH or closo-azadodecaborane (CAS: 131179-99-2). The electronic structure of these compounds is best described by Polyhedral skeletal electron pair theory for cluster molecules.
