- The Aymaran languages, the second most widespread indigenous language lineage of the Andes (c. 2.2 million speakers), after Quechua(n). This is the same family which in older usage was also known by the names Aru or Jaqi.
- The main Aymara language within that family, popularly known as just Aymara (ISO 639-3: ayr). To distinguish it from the other languages in the family, however, it is more specifically referred to as the Altiplano Aymara or Southern Aymara branch of the family.
- Central Aymara, the other surviving branch of the Aymara(n) family, which today includes only the endangered Jaqaru/Kawki language (ISO 639-3: jqr).
