Atlantic City is a 1980 French- Canadian romantic crime film directed by Louis Malle. Filmed in late 1979, it was released in France and Germany in 1980 and in the United States in 1981. The script was written by John Guare. It stars Burt Lancaster, Susan Sarandon, Kate Reid, Robert Joy, Hollis McLaren, Michel Piccoli, and Al Waxman.

Atlantic City is among the 41 films to be nominated for all " Big Five" Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Screenplay, and one of only eight among this group to not take home a single award.

Vaudeville acts are re-created in the story of how Atlantic City became a famous resort. The supporting cast features Louis Armstrong and Dorothy Dandridge. Atlantic City (minor league baseball)

Atlantic City was the name of two minor league baseball teams that represented Atlantic City, New Jersey; the first in 1885 and the second in 1912 and 1913. Many teams of this era never adopted formal nicknames.

In 1885, the Wilmington Blue Hens of Wilmington, Delaware relocated to and represented Atlantic City in the Eastern League for one season. In Atlantic City, the team was managed by Joseph Fralinger.

On June 18, 1912, the Lancaster Lanks of Lancaster, Ohio relocated to and represented Atlantic City in the Tri-State League for the remainder of 1912 and for the 1913 season. The team was managed by John Castle.
