What is "ashaiman"

Ashaiman (often wrongly spelled as "Ashiaman") is a large town in Greater Accra Region of South Ghana and is the capital of Ashaiman Municipal District, a district in Greater Accra Region. Ashaiman has a not well known number of settlement population being estimated between some hundred thousands up to over one million people (298,841 inhabitants according to World Gazetter).

Ashaiman is one of the constituencies represented in the Parliament of Ghana. It elects one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election. The Ashaiman constituency is located in the Tema Municipal District of the Greater Accra Region of Ghana.
