Arna (municipality)

Arna is a former municipality in Hordaland county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1964 until 1972. It encompassed the northeastern part of the Bergen Peninsula, along the Sørfjorden, bordering the city of Bergen across the mountains to the west. The administrative centre of the municipality was the village of Indre Arna. The municipality stretched from Ytre Arna to Trengereid along the coast and then inland about to the Espeland area. Today, the area of the former municipality makes up the borough of Arna in the city of Bergen.

Arna, commonly styled as ARNA is an annual magazine published by the University of Sydney Arts Students Society. Originally named The Arts Journal of the University of Sydney, it was published regularly between 1918 and 1974 under the auspices of the Faculty of Arts and in 1938 the journal was renamed The ARNA: The Journal of the Arts Society.

After a hiatus of 34 years, publication recommenced in 2008 by editors-in-chief Rebecca Santos and Khym Scott, alongside the revival of the Sydney Arts Students' Society. Former distinguished editors and contributors include Samuel Beckett, Robert Hughes, Clive James, Lex Banning, Harold Stewart, Geoffrey Lehmann and Les Murray. The editors-in-chief for 2016 are Eden Caceda and Lamya Rahman.
