Appthority

Appthority is a security, data loss and privacy risk company that focuses on protecting enterprises from mobile apps on employee devices. Headquartered in San Francisco, Appthority was founded in 2011 by Anthony Bettini, Domingo Guerra, and Kevin Watkins to target the growing use of mobile apps by employees.

Appthority launched in early 2012 and was named "The Most Innovative Company of RSA Conference 2012" after winning the RSA Conference Innovation Sandbox in February 2012.

Appthority secured $6.25 million in Series A financing in May 2012 from Venrock and U.S. Venture Partners. Ray Rothrock and Steve Krausz, partners at Venrock and U.S.V.P., joined Appthority’s board of directors as a result, and the funding was used to fuel company growth in San Francisco.

Most recently, Appthority secured an additional $7 million in Series B financing in July 2016 from Trident Capital Cybersecurity. Sean Cunningham, partner at Trident Capital Cybersecurity, joined Appthority's board of directors as a result, and the funding was used to fuel company growth in San Francisco.
