What is "annayya"

Annayya is a Tollywood film which released on 7 January 2000 and was directed by Muthyala Subbaiah. This film stars Chiranjeevi, Ravi Teja, Soundarya, Sarath Babu and Kota Srinivasa Rao. The music was composed by Mani Sharma. While Bhupati Raja provided story, writer Satyanand penned dialogues, this was later remade in to tamil as veeram by ajith kumar in 2014.

Annayya was a huge box office hit both critically and commercially due to Chiru's performances. The film had collected a distributors' share of Rs.60 million in the initial two weeks after its release. It completed 50 days in 92 centres and 100 days in 60 centres, which made Annayya one of the highlest acclaimed films of Chiranjeevi in his career.

Annayya Kannada is a Kannada film released in 1993, directed by D. Rajendra Babu. This film stars Crazy Star Ravichandran, Madhoo, Aruna Irani, Srinath, Dheerendra Gopal, Kashi, Ashalatha amongst others. Music was composed by Naada Brahma " Hamsalekha". The film was produced by M. Chandrashekar. It was a remake of Kannada movie Mallammana Pavada, starring Rajkumar and B. Saroja Devi. It was also remade in Tamil as Enga Chinna Rasa and Telugu as Abbaigaru and to Hindi as Beta (1992), starring Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit.
