Anjuman (actress)

Anjuman is a Pakistani film actress. She was one of the most successful Punjabi film heroines of Pakistan during the 1980s and early 1990s. Her real name is Anjuman Shaheen and she was born in Bahawalpur. Anjuman's parents were from Ahmadpur East, settled in Multan and then migrated to Lahore. Anjuman was not only in this field from her family but her younger sister Gori was also an actress of lollywood and the both sisters were the most charming and talented.

The Anjuman is a stream which runs through the Anjuman Valley in Afghanistan. The stream's sources include the three lakes of the valley, with the largest lake being the primary source.

Anjuman (1970 film)

Anjuman, a Pakistani Urdu colour film, was released on 31 July 1970, starring Waheed Murad, Rani, Deeba, Santosh Kumar, Sabiha Khanam and Lehri. The film was released during the hey days of Waheed Murad and became a milestone in the Waheed's career. The film was produced by Safdar Masud under the banner Ideal Movies and directed by Hassan Tariq, a well-known Pakistani film director.

The film was released at the worst political situation of the country with Bangladesh war of independence raging in former East Pakistan. Nevertheless, the film became a huge success, with famous tracks by Runa Laila and Ahmed Rushdi.

The film won Nigar Awards in the categories of best film, best director, best screenplay, best musician, best lyricist, best playback female singer, best editor, best art director and best comedian.

Anjuman is a Pakistani romantic drama telefilm directed by Yasir Nawaz. It is a remake of the same name released in 1970, starred by Waheed Murad and Rani. The film is produced by Tarang Housefull. Film stars Imran Abbas Naqvi, Sara Loren, Iffat Rahim, Alyy Khan and Sohai Ali Abro. This movie was written by Zanjabeel Asim Shah.

In 2013, Anjuman won three Tarang Housefull Awards and was nominated for four categories.

Anjuman (1986 film)

Anjuman (English: Congregation) is a 1986 Hindi drama film directed by Muzaffar Ali, starring Shabana Azmi, Farooq Shaikh and Rohini Hattangadi in lead roles. Set in Lucknow, it deals with exploitation of women and problems of local " chikan" embroidery workers.

Anjuman has music by Khayyam, with lyrics by noted Urdu poet Shahryar, with three songs by lead actress Shabana Azmi, who reluctantly agreed to do playback singing. Noted actor Farooq Shaikh worked in three films with Muzaffar Ali, with the others being Gaman (1978) and Umrao Jaan (1981).
