The angakkuq (plural; angakuit, , pl. angakkuit; Inuvialuktun: ; , pl. angákut) is the intellectual and spiritual figure among the Inuit who corresponds to a medicine man. Other Alaskan Native cultures have traditionally had similar spiritual mediators, although Alaskan Native religion has many forms and variants.
