Amophorae
Amphora \Am"pho*ra\, n.; pl. Amophor[ae]. [L., fr. Gr. ?, ?, a jar with two handles; ? + ? bearer, fe`rein to bear. Cf. Ampul.] Among the ancients, a two-handled vessel, tapering at the bottom, used for holding wine, oil, etc.
