Amburayan

Amburayan was a former sub-province of the old Mountain Province in the Philippines. It was originally established during the Spanish Occupation of the Philippines as a comandancia politico-militar in 1890, and encompassed the current provinces of northern Benguet, southern Ilocos Sur, and northeastern La Union.

It originally comprised the towns of Suyo, Sugpon, Santol, San Gabriel, Sudipen, Sigay, its old capital Alilem, and its newer capital, Tagudin. The comandancia included the rancherias of Up-uplas, Maliclico, Quimposa, Daquis, Bacanoa, Batangen, Tamurong and Bakun.
