n. 1 A bulbous plant, ''Eucharis amazonica'', of the family Amaryllidaceae, having tight, compact rosettes of glossy green leaves and tall spikes of white, fragrant flowers. 2 A giant water lily, (taxlink Victoria amazonica species noshow=1), with circular leaves of up to 8 feet in diameter having large white female flowers that bloom at night, and change to pink male ones the next night.
