What is "al-dahiri"

Zechariah al-Dahiri (16th century Yemen), author of Sefer HaMusar (circa 1580), a work of Hebrew rhymed prose narrative, influenced by al-Harizi's Tahkemoni. The vocalization of Sefer HaMusar work gives insight to scholars into Yemenite Hebrew pronunciation. Among the various adventures and tales told in Sefer HaMusar, al-Dahiri writes of a voyage of his to Safed (the kabbalistic philosophies of which he describes in Maimonidean, neo-Platonic terms rather than purely mystical, theosophical, or sefirotic). A critical edition of Sefer HaMusar has been produced by professor Yehuda Ratzaby.
