What is "akademen"

Akademen is a colloquial Swedish-language short name, derived from the adjective akademisk, i.e. ‘academic’, used primarily among Swedish-speaking Finns for at least two separate organizations:

• The Academic Male Voice Choir of Helsinki , a Finland-Swedish choir in Helsinki, Finland, which itself uses the short name as an alternative name.
• The Academic Bookstore , part of the Department Store Division of Finnish listed company Stockmann.
