What is "aijieke"

The ghijek (, , or occasionally ), pronounced aijieke or jizihake in Chinese, is a traditional Chinese four-stringed bowed spike fiddle. It is used primarily in Xinjiang province of western China, and is notably similar to the kamancheh. Although it is primarily played by Uyghur people some Han people have also learned to play it.

One of Xinjiang's most prominent ghijek players is Akram Omar , from Kashgar.
