Acrylic resin

Acrylic resin \A*cryl"ic re"sin\, n. 1. (Chem.) a thermoplastic made by polymerization of acrylic acid or methacrylic acid or some derivative of these (such as the esters or amides). It can be formed into a clear hard plastic, and is the basis for the commercial plastics called Lucite and Plexiglass.
