Acacius may refer to:

Acacius (Nestorian patriarch)

Acacius was patriarch of the Church of the East from 485 to 496. He is included in the traditional list of patriarchs of the Church of the East. During his reign he struggled to prevent the Church of the East from aligning itself with the 'Nestorian' doctrine espoused by the metropolitan Bar Sawma of Nisibis.

Acacius (Alexandria)

Acacius was a Byzantine military officer, active in Alexandria during the reign of Justinian I (r. 527–565).

Acacius was a native of Amida, and Zacharias Rhetor calls him "Bar Eshkhofo", which seems to mean "son of a cobbler. Zacharias further reports that after the deposition of Patriarch Paul of Alexandria and his replacement by Zoilus (in 539/540), Acacius was the military officer tasked to protect Zoilus from the hostile population of Alexandria. Acacius was probably a professional soldier, but seems to have held a lower position, perhaps a comes rei militaris or a tribunus (cavalry regimental commander).

Acacius was a Byzantine imperial curator, active in the late reign of Justinian I (r. 527-565). He is known for his role in a civil disorder incident of the 560s. The main source about him is a fragment of John Malalas.

Acacius, son of Archelaus was a Byzantine official, mentioned as a representative of emperor Justin II (r. 565-578) in 573. He is known for causing a military disaster in a siege of Nisibis (573), early in the Roman–Persian War of 572–591.
